Covedale Pet Hospital

They truly take the best care of your animals. Been going here for years and they are extremely kind. Last night my cat had an emergency visit and they squeezed me in less than 2 hours after calling even though they had a busy night. They gave him some shots and medication, less than 12 hours from last night and he is more like his normal self. I can’t thank the team at this location more than enough. As someone who views their pets as actual children, it’s a relief to know a place where you can bring in your animals and know they are being treated with the most care possible!

In October I had taken my cat in because I thought she may have had a bowel obstruction. I met with Dr. Ketring for the initial visit and a follow-up visit. She is absolutely wonderful!! She was very nice; really cared about my cat, and made a point to explain to me what was going on. Dr. Ketring gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unfortunately, a few days after the follow-up visit, my cat wasn't feeling very well; very congested. A couple weeks later the congestion had not gone away so I made another appointment. This time I saw a different vet. No problem. She wasn't great, she wasn't terrible. Spent a few minutes with my cat and diagnosed her with bronchitis. Don't know how this happened. She's only ever been in my house and to Covedale Pet Hospital. Anyway, she sent us home with a 10 day course of antibiotics. After about 3 weeks my cat was not better. I made another appointment. This time I met with Dr. Witalis. From the second Dr. Witalis walked in the room she was mean and confrontational. She began checking over my cat. She checked my cat's ears, to which my cat responded by shaking her head. This was unacceptable to Dr. Witalis as she grumbled at my cat for that reaction. Next Dr. Witalis felt my cat's head and belly, to which my cat responded with a single weak meow. Again, this was unacceptable to the doctor and she grumbled at my cat again. Finally she decided to come after me. She asked me a few questions. As I answered she just stood there sneering at me like I was stupid. I was sent home with another 10 day course of the same antibiotic. Dr. Witalis is THE WORST vet I've ever been to. I will never go to Covedale Pet Hospital again and if I'm asked, I will steer away any potential patient just in case they might have the misfortune of having their sick pet seen by Dr. Witalis. It's now been several weeks since that appointment and my cat is no better. Still congested. The entire time spent with Dr. Witalis was absolutely the worst and stupidest experience I've ever had with a vet. It's really a shame. MANY more vet options out there, though. I've already found one.

I had called to get my pet in for a torn ACL but they weren't accepting new patients. They kept my info and as soon as they could, about 3 days, they called me and asked if they could still help me. They priced the surgery less than half of Noah's Ark and in 2 weeks. They were so friendly and very good with my dog and me. I'm officially a Covedale Pet Hospital family.

Covedale pet hospital used to be a wonderful place to go. However, since management has changed, it has gone downhill. The veterinarian services are still great. However, the management is terrible Just as an FYI, when a person is paying with a credit card, running the card multiple times will not make it work. And there are certain veterinarian cards Covedale does accept. These should be listed on the front desks. NOT SOMETIMES but all the time!
